Johannesburg Yunus Emre Institute Gathered Together NGO Representatives In South Africa

Johannesburg Yunus Emre Institute brought together representatives of NGOs operating in South Africa.

Turkish ambassador to South Africa Ms.Elif Comoglu Ulgen attended the programme and explained the activities of the Yunus Emre Institute in her speech expressing her appreciation. She mentioned that she was glad to be at the gathering of Yunus Emre Institute which was held in the holy month of Ramadan, on the night of Laylat al-Qadr (night of Destiny).

"As being NGO representatives, business people and Turks, we are displaying our flag in South Africa. I am looking forward to celebrating the Religious Festival and happy Eid in advance. The relationship between Turkey and South Africa is essential and continues without any problem. We will continue taking these strong steps in the future as well as consistently in all areas of relations between Turkey and South Africa. The existence of Yunus Emre Institue in South Africa indicates the importance of the relationship between the two countries which started in 1994. We are working on establishing the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in South Africa and in which the coordinator has already been assigned and will be here soon among us." She said.

The coordinator of Johannesburg Yunus Emre Institute Mr. Gokhan Kahraman pointed out that the activities of the institute in the country started on 15 March 2017.

‘’We came together with NGO representatives in South Africa during the holy month of Ramadan on the night of Laylat al-Qadr (night of Destiny) during Iftaar dinner for the gathering of Yunus Emre Institute. The Institute operates in approximately 60 countries worldwide. At Yunus Emre Institute in Johannesburg, we offer Turkish language courses to over 41 students ranging from the ages of 7 to 74. The aim of the institute is to form correct and reliable sources of information of Turkey for the people of the two countries.’’ He said.

Officers from Turkish Embassy in Pretoria and the representatives of Independent Industrial and Businessman Association (MUSIAD), Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), World Turkish Business Council (DTIK), Association of Beşiktaş Supporters in South Africa, African National View (Afrika Milli Görüş), The House Of Wisdom and Education, Hasene Foundation,  International Brotherhood and Peace and Morality Association (UKBA) attended the gathering of Yunus Emre Institute for Iftaar dinner.
