Since the establishment of Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, more than 50 Turkish Cultural Centres have played an important role in furthering the friendly relations in regions they are located.

Yunus Emre Enstitüsü aims to introduce Turkish culture and provide a permanent and lasting interaction between national, traditional and modern values through language of culture and art, as well as teaching Turkish with Cultural Centres. In addition to organizing activities in regions they are located, they also work on preservation of traditional arts, and cultural heritage, enabling artistic production in different disciplines and development of cultural policies.

The teaching system in Turkish courses organized at Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Turkish Cultural Centres, is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The four basic language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) are taught at equal levels in Turkish lessons offered in centres.

Language instruction is carried out at six levels, which are A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, defined based on European Language Portfolio criteria.
